Volunteering with VSO UK

Welcome to all volunteers recruited through VSO UK. Here you will find all the information you will need to support you through your pre-departure journey.

We hope that the answer to almost all your questions can be found in these pages so please do look here first. However, if you do have any questions or need any support please contact the Volunteer Support Team on volunteersupport@vso.org.uk or +44(0)208 780 7500.

Please note that some aspects of the pre-departure journey vary according to your volunteer type:

  • Long-term volunteer (LTV): volunteers who are likely to go overseas for seven months or more
  • Short-term volunteer (STV): volunteers who are likely to go overseas for six months or less
  • Youth for Development (YfD): volunteers under 25 who applied through our YfD scheme.
